The ASCE MN Mankato Student Chapter invites you to the November Section meeting. Eric Borchers from Meyer Borgman Johnson (Minneapolis) and Teresa Vangeli from WSP (Boston) will present Civil Engineers Taking Action on Climate Change.
As governments and corporations race to adopt and achieve net-zero or carbon-neutral targets, climate change in increasingly a driver of business decisions and design decisions. How is this impacting the work of civil engineers today, and what will it mean for the future of the profession? This session will define clear and immediately actionable links between civil engineering and climate change, in terms of both mitigation (reducing greenhouse gas emissions via lower embodied carbon designs) and adaptation (reducing the adverse effects of climate change by anticipating changing environmental hazards brought on by climate change).
