ASCE invites you to the December Section meeting! Jim Howley, PE from Tensar Int. Corp. (Alpharetta, GA) will present MnDOT GE (Granular Equivalency) Designs using Geogrids.

In this one hour presentation, Tensar will introduce you to design methods, tools and information needed to effectively consider geogrids and geotextiles in roadway design applications with topics including the following:

• Evolution of geogrids and their design mechanisms

• MnDOT Granular Equivalency (GE) design using geogrids

• Comparing the performance of using different types of geogrids (Biaxial vs Triaxial, etc)

• Discussion of using geogrids vs a high strength geotextile fabric and using a geogrid for separation

• Introduction of the Tensar+ design software

Tensar will welcome questions and offer free design evaluations for any roadway based applications.  We will also provide a one hour PDH certificate to any attendees who request an electronic copy.  Also attached is a copy of the Tensar All Systems brochure which provides more detail on all engineered solutions that Tensar can assist with, including roads, rail, marine, ports, walls and slopes.
